Ukrainian, historically also Ruthenian, is an East Slavic language. It is the native language of the Ukrainians and the official state language of Ukraine. Written Ukrainian uses a variant of the Cyrillic script.

Unlike many cultures around the world, Ukrainians wear wedding rings on the right-hand, not the left.

Ukrainians also tend to eat a lot of potatoes, grains, and fresh and pickled vegetables. The popular traditional Ukrainian dishes are Varenyky (boiled dumplings with mushrooms, potatoes, sauerkraut, cottage cheese, or cherries), Holubtsi (stuffed cabbage rolls filled with rice, carrots, and meat), Deruny (potato pancakes), Salo, Okroshka (soup), Banush, Holodets, homemade sausages, Nalisniki. The most famous Ukrainian dish is Borscht (soup made from beetroot, cabbage, potato, and containing meat).

One of the most charming and well-preserved Ukrainian destinations for visitors is L'viv a.k.a.
