      Nomoskaar is a common greeting in Assam, India. We present to you some interesting information about Assam.

      Assam is a state in northeastern India, which is known for its wildlife and archaeological sites and tea plantations. Did you know that Assam came from the word ‘Asom’ it was only the British who changed it as they could not pronounce it correctly?

      Assam tea and Assam milk are well known in Assam. Assam is home to the one-horned Indian rhinoceros, along with the wild water buffalo, pygmy hog, tiger, and various species of Asiatic birds, and provides one of the last wild habitats for the Asian elephant.

      The main city of not only Assam, Guwahati but of the entire Northeast Region, has a number of tourist attractions including that of Umananda Temple and the mighty Brahmaputra River. Another major tourist destination in Assam is Majuli Islands, which are reckoned to be the largest river islands in the world.

        @sakamvari Nomoskar is also a greeting of hello in West Bengal. Kamakhya temple in Guwahati of Assam is a very nice place to visit.
