    Latvian, also known as Lettish, is the official language of Latvia as well as one of the official languages of the European Union. It is an Eastern Baltic language belonging to the Balto-Slavic branch of the Indo-European language family, spoken in the Baltic region.

    Latvian is particularly interesting because it emerged during several centuries by language spoken by the ancient Latgalian tribe.     To understand Latvian culture and traditions better, you must get to know the cuisine with all the unique dishes full of fantastic organic ingredients, one of them is Mushrooms, a big part of Latvian cuisine. There are plenty of traditional Latvian dishes made from mushrooms, but the most delicious must be fried boletus with salt, rye bread, and herb-flavored butter. Apart from that, you can try Kvass, Beetroot soup, Speck, Smoked fish, Potato pancakes, and Bread soup as dessert.
