LOMA Founded in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1924, the Life Office Management Association is a group of 82 life insurance companies interested in sharing office management information. In 1932, LOMA began developing a curriculum and examination program to train employees in management and operations. This led to the FLMI (Life Management Institute Fellows) designation, and in October 1934, LOMA moved to New York City, where it remained until 1977, when LOMA's Board of Directors voted to move LOMA headquarters to its present location in Atlanta, Georgia.
