    • RE: Lettering and sounds

@lexulous I agree that the Flash version tile visuals are a lot easier on the eyes. Apart from the things @Dan Mitchell mentioned, I note that the old tiles had some lighter shading, particularly (maybe only) on the top. It gave a sort of three-dimensional look to the tiles. Maybe that was easy with Flash, but harder in code. But if the image for each tile is in a library, maybe it isn't too hard. I think that kind of lighter color, or less saturation, on the top would help. But particularly making the letters more bold and a bit larger to fill more of the square would be nice.
(Is there a technical reason why the old letter images can't just be used? Maybe has to do with using the game on a mobile platform?? -- I have always used the desktop version; I found the phone version on my iPhone Xs was not really usable.) Finally, I do like the new features in V2 a lot; your ongoing changes are making the game asymptotically approaching perfection ☺

    • RE: Analysis mode: seeing score of word played

Thank you for your response... Looking forward to the updated version.
It would also be good to show who the player is. V1 showed something like "[You] played WORD (23)" or "[Opponent] played WORD (23)" so you know who missed the big-scoring word!

@lexulous THANK YOU for updating the analysis to show the player and word score, etc. And the < and > (and their doubles) is very nice!

    • RE: Number of players in "Show moves"

@lexulous Thank you for updating the player list so it shows just the number of players. Yes, there is a lot to do for you all, but this is one of many recent improvements that lead V2 asymptotically to perfection!

    • Valid word epazotes deemed invalid

Desktop, V2, Win 10. Move 9 of 19, game 15931074, UK English. Trying to add an "s" (with a wild card (blank) tile) to the word "epazote" already on the board. Wouldn't allow me to add the "s" even though a) entering the word in the "dictionary" tab showed it as valid, b) using Wordsolver and the SOWPODS dictionary showed it as valid, and c) when analyzing the game after it was completed, it showed "epazotes" as one of the possible plays. (I discovered this by trying to play the word "bufos" and the play button was red, showing it was invalid. Then I found that just the s was the problem.)
I mention this just in case it would reveal some coding error in a condition that might arise rarely. Having played the game for some years, and V2 for some months, I have never seen another example of this!

    • Showing where letter will go.... great feature

New yesterday, I think, in the desktop email version (Win 10, Firefox, V2). Graying out the square is nice. The moving letter has not really followed the cursor for the last few days, but it really helps to have this feature. Could always use the "arrow" and type feature, but I prefer to use the mouse!
      Thank you for this.

    • RE: Rematch after deleted game - hangs?

@laysan The rematch option does seem to work properly if the game has been completed in the usual way. Seems to fail if the game was just deleted.

@dan-mitchell Yes, I did see the response to betterlate1. Thank you for letting me know; it was very kind of you.

    • Rematch after deleted game - hangs?

Several times I have deleted a game (without playing, or playing just one word), and when the "Rematch" popup pops up, I click OK or YES (forgotten exactly which one) to start a new game with the same other player. Then the page just hangs with the little circle going round. (Windows 10 Pro, Firefox latest edition, email version of Lexulous V2, desktop)
Have to log out to start over. This has happened several times over several days, so I don't think it is a server communication issue...

    • Option to display forum posts on desktop

Is there a way to not display the forum post list at the bottom of the game screen on the desktop (v2)? The v1 display was cleaner....and the list seems to be a visual distraction. Optimally, one would like to be able to turn the display on or off with an option.... like the magic tool option, for example. (Windows 10, Firefox)

    • Move Strength percentage

I just discovered the "Move Strength" rating in the "Play" button. (I first thought it was an error in the coding to display the button...the few-pixel-wide red bit...) Could you explain, somewhere, what lies behind the Move Strength percentage? Yes, I see that a low-scoring move is a low strength, and an eight-letter bingo is a high strength. And I infer that if I put a word on the board with a strength of, say, 40%, it means I can find one or more other words to play that would bring that percentage up to 90% or higher? Is that the idea? Seems like a good additional feature to have! (I did look for an explanation, but didn't find it...)
