When I look at "Suggested Players" for my next game, their ratings are rarely close to my own. Can this be improved please?

Good question. Jacob and England are not allowed, according to Lexulous' US Search option at:

However, English is allowed - presumably because it is an adjective (more or less?) rather than a proper noun.

There is a page in the forum about this somewhere but I can't find it at the moment. If anyone knows where to find this Lexulous page which has full details of which words are allowed and what are not, please let us know!

@therizzler - I found your post to be very interesting, certainly raises a lot of issues to think about. The 'story' partially concerns the identification of Jacob (Genesis) with Yacub (Nation of Islam). The truth of this story is the subject of a religious debate over the ages. Is it racist or not? I don't know, nothing is clear. Whether this is relevant to Scrabble player dictionaries, I have no idea.

WIKI seems to suggest that Yacub and Yacubian might be offensive to various groups i.e. Blacks, Whites and Jews. So, 'TheRizzler', if you are concerned about racist vibes, perhaps it might be best NOT to include Yacub, Yacubian and so on, at all?

Anyway, that's what I get from the WIKI link which has been provided here. I believe you can edit the WIKI page yourself if you think it's wrong or perhaps provide another link here to illuminate the debate.

The Merriam-Webster wordsmiths have added a slew of food-related words: iftar, horchata, kabocha, mofongo, zuke, zoodle, wagyu, queso and marg, for margarita, among them.

I trust that Lexulous will add the following new words from the seventh edition of “The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary” to their listings!

(PART 1)
The new words include some trademarks gone generic - dumpster for one - some shorthand joy like guac, and a delicious display of more verb variations: torrented, torrenting, adulted, adulting, atted, atting (as in don’t at me, bro).

Fauxhawk, a haircut similar to a Mohawk, is potentially the highest scoring newbie, he said. Embiggen, a verb meaning to increase in size, is among the unexpected. (Sample sentence: “I really need to embiggen that Scrabble dictionary.”)

Compound words are on the rise in the book with deadname, pageview, fintech, allyship, babymoon and subtweet. So are the “uns,” such as unfollow, unsub and unmute. They may sound familiar, but they were never Scrabble official, at least when it comes to the sainted game’s branded dictionary.

I notice that you had a run of issues back in August, including this latest one. So maybe things were resolved in August and now they've begun again?

Have you had any email issues apart from the ones with Lexulous?

I'm not an expert or anything but, in general, I would say that it is best to resolve what you can with computers and either just accept the rest - or try new sites and/or new software.

I hope you can solve the issues and, whether you do or not, I hope you don't let it get under your skin. Good luck!

I know I can post images, using the appropriate icon (looks like a mountain and a dot for the sun inside a rectangular frame) but I have no knowledge of a camera facility on this site. Can you tell me anything more about it?

To be fair, I emailed them a few weeks back and they fixed a scoring problem for me right away. Writing to them at admin@lexulous.com is the best option for workaday issues, I think.

I refer to the ones in which insults are hurled, personal attacks pursued? Indeed, I am becoming reluctant to recommend the site to friends when the posts have become so unpleasant.
