The Color of the Rift

In 1824 Mobile, Alabama, two inseparable friends—James Whitemore and Benjamin Jackson—are pulled into a magical portal, the Rift. In this alternate world, power is reversed: Black people hold dominion, and white people face oppression. James experiences the weight of bondage, and Benjamin confronts the burden of cruelty.
