I'm a jew. And a Jew, and am Jewish.
I have no problem being a jew.
And have no problem being called a jew, as you can see, I call myself a jew.
I don't find it derogatory in any way whatsoever, and think this entire conversation is ridiculous, sorry.
The world is out of control with "political correctness" lately. Every time I turn around, it's something new that has now been deemed "offensive" for whatever reason. It's like people sit around & think of new ways to get offended, because being offended by something is the new "in" thing.
ANYTHING can be used in a derogatory manner.
But by your logic, "Jew" is okay, "jew" is not.
So how do you convey that in a verbal conversation?
You referred to yourself as a "Jew". So if you're having a verbal conversation with someone, you would verbally say "I am a capital J Jew" - just so they were clear you weren't saying you were a "lowercase j jew"?
So you'd have no problem with someone calling you a Jew, as long as they said "hey you capital letter J Jew". Just to be CLEAR.

I could say I find it offensive that you get to speak for people you don't even know, "I will keep this simple. As a Jew the word is offensive to myself and other Jews. Clear?"
How do you know what is offensive to other Jews, jews, or Jewish people?
Do you know them all?
Have you polled the ones that you do know, and asked them if this specifically offends them?
So I am to assume that if someone plays the word jew, it would offend you? What would be the reason that would offend you?
Because you feel that they are not just using the letters in a word GAME, but using this medium an excuse to call you a swindler?

So if someone plays the word "bitch", should I immediately be offended & assume that they are calling me a bitch? Even though the only actual definition in the dictionary is that of a female dog? The other definitions are "slang", but derogatory.
So as a woman, should I demand bitch be removed from the game?
Well heck, while we're at it - how about if someone plays the word "colored" which literally means something that has color, but can also have derogatory meanings. Should we have them remove that word as well, because it might be offensive to black people?
We could go on with this forever, until there are what, 100 words left? (until someone steps up & says one offends them, then 99)

But what if - and just a what if - a person playing the GAME has those letters in their tray, and plays them just to PLAY them & gain points (which is ultimately the objective I believe). I don't think they chose those letters to deliberately insult the other player.
If you had 3 letters left in your tray, "j" "e" "w", and you could place them just right, with triple letters, a triple word, making 3 more words & would get like 125 points for "jew", or you could just play "ew" for 6, you can say with 100% honesty, that you'd play the 6, just not to use a lowercase word "jew" in a word GAME?
OMG - seriously, think about it. This is a GAME.

Sure, I guess you could say cheap - or frugal, but then who isn't these days? "To haggle so as to reduce (a price)" Would I haggle or bargain with someone to get a price down? Absolutely! I would have no problem with that. Would I do it unfairly, unlawfully or just vengefully? Of course not.

Okay - well it's not in Webster, Oxford or Cambrige. However, when I look it up at dictionary.com, it says only if it is used as a verb.. "verb (used with object)" so alone it is okay, but when it is used as a verb along with another word, it's not okay?

And if it is voiced, just the word "Jew", how would you ever know if they meant it offensively, unless it was accompanied by another word?

ANYWAY - why not try to get a word whose only use is meant to insult someone of the Jewish faith? A word that has whether spoken or written, capitalized or not, has only one meaning, whether you look it up in the dictionary or not?
You can certainly play the word "kike" on here, and that word has no other meaning than the offensive one.
Is that one okay with you? Kike is better than lowercase-jew?
In your dictionary.com, they've deemed it "Extremely Disparaging and Offensive". Whereas jew was only "offensive" (but only sometimes, when lowercase and used as a verb with another word)
Why not ask they take kike out? Or your mentioned "C" word - why not try to get that removed?
I find those far more offensive than "jew". I would much prefer jew to c*** even cheap jew, jew down, etc. Way better than the c word.
I grew up with kike being derogatory. I did not grow up with the word jew alone being derogatory. My parents referred to us as "jews" all the time, never once specifying that we were only capital letter Jews, we were not lowercase jews.

Some women like being called the "c" word while having sex. Personally I do not, and just a guess, neither do you. But whether you want to believe it or not, some women don't find it offensive. So your reasoning that because "jew" doesn't offend me, I must not be Jewish, that because she doesn't find the c word offensive, she must not be a real female?

Now that being said - I never once insulted you. Never once said you were something I had no idea if you were or not. I never questioned your faith, or accused you of anything.

I asked questions. I gave my opinion about the subject, never once attacking anyone as a person.
But in one fail swoop, you have personally accused me of lying about being a jew, accused me of using this game to as merely an excuse be disrespectful & a bigot. It's good to be passionate about your beliefs. But just because you believe something, whether it's in the dictionary or not, does not mean that anyone that does not agree with you is wrong. Or lying. Or a bigot. Or disrespectful.
This is a forum. for opinions, suggestions, and I was merely replying to a post that made me laugh because in my opinion was a ridiculous subject, (never once said ridiculous people, or try to insult anyone) I was posing questions to provoke thought, not to have you lash out at me and accuse me of all these awful things.

I never said you asked to remove the word. I posted in this forum in response to the first post, not to you.
You however, provided quite a lengthy response, to something that was not posted to you.
My second post however was in direct response to your post to me. The foreskin comment I know was zoso, but just merely pointed out to you that I am without, as you were in a conversation with him about me.

I was not accusatory, but whatever. You can believe what you wish, I have no desire to continue to defend my words, it's going nowhere. I have my beliefs and you have yours, let's leave it at that, shall we?

@betterlate1 Ahhh so now not only do you get to decide what words are offensive and to whom, but you get to decide what faith they are as well. I see.
Gosh, you must be really busy with all these big decisions you have to make.
And fyi, I don't have foreskin (females seldom do), and I am a jew. I am not offended, (btw, free will & all that, I get to decide what I am offended by - as far as being a jew, well, I was born that way, and decided to continue to be part of the Jewish faith) I have certainly been called much worse things.
That being said, three things;
Why not take the words "swindler" and "cheap" out as well, because they might either be offensive to cheap people or actual swindlers, or because according to you, they are assumed when speaking of someone belonging to the Jewish faith, and being called a jew.
A jew is a Jew is a jeW. Any letter you capitalize or not, they all imply that you are Jewish.

1. I certainly don't need to defend or prove my faith to you. Again, free will, you can believe whatever you want, however what you believe doesn't make it fact.
2. I was merely trying to show how absurd it was to decide that it would be better for all jews to take that (or any) word out of the game, simply because may be taken the wrong way.
