Bon dia is a common greeting in Afghanistan. We present to you some interesting information about Afghanistan.

Pashto sometimes spelled Pukhto or Pakhto is the official language of the people of Afghanistan. Did you know that it is the second-largest regional language in Pakistan? Around 18-19 million people speak this language.
Here are some interesting facts about Afghanistan:

New Year is celebrated by Afghans on 21st March. They call it “Nawroz”. It is a pre-Islamic festival that is celebrated by a gathering of thousands of travelers from across Afghanistan to the city of Mazar-e-Sharif.

“Buzkashi” is Afghanistan’s national game. Players in two teams try to catch a goat while riding a horse. This game has been played for centuries and is a tough sport.

They celebrate poetry night on Thursdays in the western city of Herat. People of all age groups gather there to share modern and ancient verses of poetry and indulge in some nice food along with some sweet tea.

Thank you for this suggestion, @dan-mitchell. As a retired editor at the Universal Esperanto Association in Rotterdam NL, however, I feel it would be better if I limited my Creative Corner contributions to explanations of words in the internacia lingvo. The first five that come to mind are stulta, pigra, senkompetenta, prokrastema, and ekstertema, so you may start seeing short essays from me on these words and/or others.
