2021 New Format

@haggade I even changed my email trying to notification t o gmail. Not working. I too am saving an old game or checking every so often to see. It's a hassle. I just made a new account, Maybe this will work as my cohorts are still getting email notifications. I've written to admin three times, always the same answer log in to play. Not user friendly.
@peony5591 I am having the same problem! And I have pro status so I don’t get ads and now I’m getting ads. I just renewed for a year in May!!

The new format has plusses, okay. But negatives are serious. I do not get a notice that my opponent has played a word. If, rarely, I DO receive an email saying it's my turn, she does not get that notice. In other words, this new format is barely, rarely functioning like the former format. SO sorry you had to change.
PLEASE fix the game between TennisGranny and JoWriter as soon as you can!

@lexulous, AND, when the play button turns green, it also has a colored edge on the right, which, when clicked, shows the word-to-be-played "strength" as a percentage. IOW, 100% is the best possible play determined and less than a 100%, not so much.
@jrp32 I love that feature a well. But today it IS NOT WORKING and does not give me the word strengenth. all is says is NaN%. Can you hellp me

@lusciousgrape ty for seeing the humour in that. I had peeps I played decide not to play me too after playing for a long time. it just goes into the box of stuff ill never know. dont worry about it and dont take it personally.

We understand that any change is confusing at first. However, we did not really have a choice in creating a new format. The old format has to be phased out due to technology being out-dated. After all it was created in 2007/2008.
The process over a year back and players are using the new format comfortably since quite a few months now. So please share your concerns and we will look into them.
The new format has many additional features that make game play interesting and save time for players. For example:
- Click on the game number to the right of the board to open the menu and change Colours, Numbered Board, Magic Tiles & other settings.
- To the left of the tile rack there is a Shuffle icon, click once to shuffle. click again to arrange in A-Z order.
- To the right of the rack you have SWAP and PASS icons.
- The moment you place tiles on the board the play button changes to red or green depending on word validity.
- After you place tiles, to the left of your tile rack you will get the Undo icon
- There is a T icon towards the top right of the chat box, simply click on it to cycle through the different font sizes for the chat area.
- Two letter word lists are more accessible to the right of the board (Dictionary tab)
- Unseen tiles now shows percentage of vowels & consonants so you can play your turn better.
- Last word shows at top left and clicking on it will open the move list making it more accessible during the game.
- Head To Head stats are shifted to under the Tools section to the right of the board.
- Clicking on a player will bring up the stats box for the player
- You can click on the board for an arrow to show up and simply type out the words instead of dragging & dropping each letter.

make the random distribution random so it doesnt appear to be all to familiar
dont forget 37 vowels to 50 consonents mean that there should be LESS vowels than consonents not the opposite -

@arandsr I totally agree. I thought it was the 'luck of the draw', but even still it's happening far too much
@lusciousgrape With over 4k games under my belt (you probably have more) i think you can disabuse yourself of that thought. The letter I is the biggest offender by far and i have done things like play 3 I's (INSIPID for example) and gotten two more I's in the next draw. On the consonant side, I will never forget the time I got two Q's in a game. (Lex offered to delete the game, but I asked them not to and played both Q's and won.)

The letter I is the biggest offender by far and i have done things like play 3 I's (INSIPID for example) and gotten two more I's in the next draw. On the consonant side, I will never forget the time I got two Q's in a game. (Lex offered to delete the game, but I asked them not to and played both Q's and won.)

@jrp32 I am sure they will tell you it's purely random and there's no way it can be changed. Sometimes lots of Is - 3&4 at once is pretty annoying, but you're probably noticing it more than it actually happens.

@lusciousgrape very true. I frequently get all vowels or all consonants. I had one game that had 5 Is or 5 Os. It can be quite annoying.

@ann-mills In every scrab game online, everyone gets overloads of vowels or cons or both. My suggestion is to swap or learn new words to use those vowels or cons
