TIBIA is allowed but not FIBIA
-
As per post title. I really needed 'fibia' and it's not there - but 'tibia' is!
Fibia and Tibia
My friend, I'll say it plain,
FIBIA's a word, of which I'm certain.
But if there's doubt,
I promise to cross it out.I've had my fill, my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside.
I see the need to mention,
"How come TIBIA gets an exemption?"Of course that's a plagiarism of Sinatra's "My Way". Here's some info from genius.com:
One of Sinatra’s most well-known songs, “My Way” is considered an all time classic. It has been covered by everyone from Elvis Presley to The Sex Pistols.
Despite its success, according to his daughter Tina, Sinatra hated the song. He always thought that song was self-serving and self-indulgent. He didn’t like it. That song stuck and he couldn’t get it off his shoe.
Written by Paul Anka specifically for Frank Sinatra, it uses the chords of “Comme d'habitude” by French singer Claude François. Anka bought the rights for this song for just one dollar. Anka described the emotional moment he heard Frank’s recording:
"I flew out to Vegas where he was at Caesars. I played it to him. I knew that by the reaction he gave me he was going to do it. I’m in New York two months later. The phone rings, Mr. Sinatra on the phone. He says, ‘Kid! Listen to this.’ Took the phone, put it up to the speaker. I heard ‘My Way’ for the first time and I started crying."

When you rhyme plain and certain
Your poetry's hurtin'. -
@roymccoy said in TIBIA is allowed but not FIBIA:

Ha ha! I did admit to using an online rhyming website which perhaps throws in some "text' rhymes such as 'ain'. Funny to think of some programmer mouthing lottsa words to him /her self and typing them all in! LOL
I didn't think anyone would notice, didn't count on roymccoy!
What do you think of these two rhymes below in a wonderful song called "Murder Most Foul" by a guy called Dylan?

I'm just a patsy like Patsy Cline
Never shot anyone from in front or behind.

Wolfman Jack, he's speaking in tongues
He's going on and on at the top of his lungs.
...A journalist once asked Bob Dylan, "What are your songs about?"
Dylan replied, "Some of them are about five minutes and some of them are about eight minutes." -
Love it! Thank you ... now I can stop getting cross about Lex not allowing me 'fibia'.
At least I'm not the only one ...
"I enjoyed it in Italy when I played but I broke my fibia and my tibia out there so my spell with Rangers was the happiest of my career. ("Paul Gascoigne on his 'massive regret' at leaving Rangers")
Eltel AB (STO:ELTEL) announced on Monday that its Communication business in Denmark has signed a three-year FTTH frame agreement with Danish fibre company Fibia. ("Eltel announces three-year frame agreement award of EUR29m to its Communications business in Denmark")
At the first Curre & Llangibby Hunt Point-To-Point Steeplechases at Howick last November, Jack Tudor, 16, of Merthyr Mawr near Bridgend, had the misfortune to break his tibia and fibia when a loose horse struck into his mount, putting him out of action for some time. ("Young jockey Jack back in the saddle with a win after injury; turf talk")

I love Dylan's later lyrics, but not his later music.
As for his snappy answers, here's my favorite:
Reporter: How many people who major in the same musical vineyard in which you toil, how many are protest singers? That is, people who use their music, and use the songs to protest the uh, social state in which we live today, the matter of war, the matter of crime, or whatever it might be.
Dylan: Um... how many?
Reporter: Yes. How many?
Dylan: Uh, I think there's about uh, 136.
[People around him giggle. The reporter doesn't laugh]
Reporter: You say ABOUT 136, or you mean exactly 136?
Dylan: Uh, it's either 136 or 142. -
It's tibia and fibula isn't it?
