Cheating?
-
I'm curious what people think of this. I'm playing a person whose rating is 1907 (mine is 1904). During this game he/she played the following bingos:
OVERLATE
EFFULGED
POTATOES
LABORER
COYNESS
I got one, CONSUMER.
In addition he/she got a lot of other good plays so the final score in this game is over 550. Personally I think there's an element of luck that some people have that others don't. But here, my instincts say the person is cheating. I'm curious what other people think. -

Some would disagree, but I would look at his bingo list and see how often he plays crazy
words to decide whether he was a cheater. There are plenty of non-cheaters in this world who can get 5 bingos in a game.

@zaph Thanks. I'm not aware how to look at the bingo list but maybe if I log into the desktop version I could figure it out. Overlate made me scratch my head a little bit but you're right it's not that odd. But that other one and the fact that he got five in a game makes me wonder...I don't really care that much I'm just curious about other people's thoughts, but that's a good idea.

@pangloss I used to play someone who seemed to get an inordinate number of bingos at the beginning of games. I started keeping a record of how many she got compared with how many I got; and finally realised what she was doing. Every time she started a game, if she couldn't start with a bingo she just deleted the game and started a new one, until she got what she wanted. I don't play her any more.

Hi @Pangloss, it's a tricky/touchy topic, isn't it? I see it raised as a topic in the lobby now and then, in the form of an accusation, but there's never any proof as far as I know--- other than once someone posted a screen shot here in the forum, and it showed their open tabs including an anagrammer site-- oopsie.
