Is this connected? I hope not

Was in game..someone on chat asked me to play told him was in game..wanted to see his stats..so clicked his name and learned an invite was sent..same time person I was playing (almost start of game) was gone.and game ended. Hope they are not connected. So how do you see stats if there is automatically an invite sent ? and was it connected to game ending and person leaving? Thanks.
