      @lexulous
      I would like to see the "word" WOMANS removed. The plural of WOMAN is WOMEN or so I believe. 🙂

        @marymwalker It's a lovely word and seems pretty widely used in horsing circles along with a few similar Spanish ones such as tobiano and sabino. I think that's the problem. The words are too on the Spanish side, and their usage is too niche to have entered the regular English language dictionaries.

            Not sure if I've replied to this thread correctly because I couldn't find a reply button so it may come up as a reply to the wrong person but anyway..

            Firstly, the suggestion people are making about vulgar or offensive words being removed is completely ridiculous. If it's a word then its a word. Keep your toxic political correctness to yourselves 😂

            Also, not sure if anyone else has noticed but the word 'myspace' (the social media website from 00s) is in the Lexulous dictionary! Now, I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that it has no other meanings and so why an obsolete social media website is in the Lexulous dictionary is far beyond me!

              @sakamvari, @agentcarter, why is this even a topic in the list if words cannot be added or removed??

                @mapmakere Good point. It's probably not going to change anything (unless the official dictionary people are following this), but it does promote an interesting discussion nonetheless.

                    Then it is confusing to see the following offer from Lexulous:

                    "Lexulous (2 May 2020)
                    You may use this topic for recommending words to be added/removed from the Lexulous Word Lists"

                    I would infer that Lexulous creates its own lists of words to use on this site i.e. that it can choose whatever words it wants.

                    Please Lexulous, can you clarify this point for us!

                          @b-birney Sorry but, every definition of jew is pejorative. As long as it is not a proper noun, it is intended as an insult

                              I came across "ebay" as a valid word on Lex UK. That is a new level of ridiculous if you expect a game with defined, adhered to, rules.

                                      It appears that this topic is a "hornet's nest". For each person who wants to include a "new" word, someone else wants it excluded and vice versa. There are lots of dictionaries out there, and there are always going to be differences at the margin. I had understood that the way out of this conundrum is to use one standardised dictionary for all games, and I believe that what is known as SOWPODS is the Scrabble standard, although there is a different standard in N. America. Lexulous admin, why don't you cut through this confusion and adopt one or two optional standards (how about SOWPODS and the USA equivalent?) instead of your own version?

                                        @jpcoh1 I don't think it's really that difficult. Most people who make valid suggestions for the removal of words usually have a good case put forward for why. The only ones that usually dont make sense are the overly sensitive women that dont like the word 'cunt.' (Or whatever derogatory term they decide to pick on that day.)

                                        Also, I'm pretty sure that Lexulous just synchronises it's dictionary with a third-party dictionary online. I find it very doubtful that they have their own. So to be honest, I'm not sure if it's even possible for them to remove words. They would probably either themselves have to contact the owners of the online dictionary they have synchronised their dictionary with, or synchronise it with a different dictionary. Which would probably explain why it never gets changed, because they simply can't be arsed!

                                          @l-j Yeah, Lex appears to use the latest official tournament word lists. That's a good thing.

                                          The best course of action for those serious about adding or removing certain words would be to contact Merriam-Webster and/or Collins.
