2021 New Format

We understand that any change is confusing at first. However, we did not really have a choice in creating a new format. The old format has to be phased out due to technology being out-dated. After all it was created in 2007/2008.
The process over a year back and players are using the new format comfortably since quite a few months now. So please share your concerns and we will look into them.
The new format has many additional features that make game play interesting and save time for players. For example:
- Click on the game number to the right of the board to open the menu and change Colours, Numbered Board, Magic Tiles & other settings.
- To the left of the tile rack there is a Shuffle icon, click once to shuffle. click again to arrange in A-Z order.
- To the right of the rack you have SWAP and PASS icons.
- The moment you place tiles on the board the play button changes to red or green depending on word validity.
- After you place tiles, to the left of your tile rack you will get the Undo icon
- There is a T icon towards the top right of the chat box, simply click on it to cycle through the different font sizes for the chat area.
- Two letter word lists are more accessible to the right of the board (Dictionary tab)
- Unseen tiles now shows percentage of vowels & consonants so you can play your turn better.
- Last word shows at top left and clicking on it will open the move list making it more accessible during the game.
- Head To Head stats are shifted to under the Tools section to the right of the board.
- Clicking on a player will bring up the stats box for the player
- You can click on the board for an arrow to show up and simply type out the words instead of dragging & dropping each letter.
@lexulous I'm not sure if this is related to the new format, but I'm no longer getting email notifications of moves my opponents have made. Could you please tell me how to fix this? Thanks!

@liz-riches Me too Liz-riches, despite having had them before the new format and despite my ticking "receive email notification". No-one has answered this question yet. I have had to keep a very old game in my inbox and click on it to play.

@clarisepatton Me too Clarise. I never, ever play Live - only play from email notifications. No-one has answered this query yet. I hvae had to keep an old game in my inbox - I click on it, then go to NEXT and it brings me to the current games.

@lexulous Please bring back multi language welcome to the site! I used to enjoy trying to work out what language it was before clicking on it! Not sure why it was removed on last update? It has been there forever.
Also, the "pop-up" when you hover over the shuffle button is massive and very distracting, especially when you shuffle a lot. Any chance of the option to switch off those pop ups? Or bring back the "press space bar to shuffle" option?
Thanks!@shaggydogswerve has mentioned a previous "press space bar to shuffle" option that I was unaware of or I would have used it constantly. Not wanting to have to keep clicking all the time – which is more difficult on a trackpad than with a mouse – I quickly devised a Mac Keyboard Maestro macro to click on the button, but I keep having to adjust the window to conform to the macro, or to adjust the macro when something has changed in the window.
I was just now getting ready to suggest a keycode for shuffle and undo ("undo" is totally appropriate, since anything put on the board is "done"; "recall", again, looks pompous and pretentious, high-falutin' and la-di-da, and makes one think of Gavin Newsom and similar political unpleasantries), and if keycodes are possible for these – as I suppose they are – they're possible also for pass and swap, and why not. The space bar would be fine for shuffling, so why don't you reinstate that as suggested. Thanks.

@clarisepatton I have been using an old game to access recent ones also for several weeks now , and afraid I am going to lose access. wish they would fix this problem with Microsoft soon!

@haggade I even changed my email trying to notification t o gmail. Not working. I too am saving an old game or checking every so often to see. It's a hassle. I just made a new account, Maybe this will work as my cohorts are still getting email notifications. I've written to admin three times, always the same answer log in to play. Not user friendly.

I do not like the new format. And also, there is a 'chat' box, but no chats go thru to the other player??? Can you fix this.

@lusciousgrape I experienced something similar and made a thread about it. Perhaps it's a more widespread problem.

@peony5591 I tried the same, changing to email....no success. After all this time. still no answer as to why I cannot get the game emailed. All my other game participants seem to be getting theirs !

@haggade I finally requested they delete my account, for both emails and I would start again. They then must have taken a closer look and told me my gmail was blocked. They unblocked and now I am getting emails. I would prefer them in my hotmail.account, but that seems too high a hill to climb.
"We found that your email was blocked, we have tried to unblock it and you should have got an email notification once again. Do let us know if your games are back on email." So I am now getting emails on a gmail account. -

@peony5591 I am having the same problem! And I have pro status so I don’t get ads and now I’m getting ads. I just renewed for a year in May!!
