Well, I think you have to be more specific. I think, speaking only as a newbie, that a big effort has been made to provide all sorts of bells and whistles which make for an interesting and enjoyable experience.... with the proviso that I wasn't around when the new new format was introduced

@hopeful12 Because the old format depended on Flash, a programme which is no longer available.

I don't find this explanation adequate or satisfactory. I haven't followed Flash closely, but my understanding is that it is already gone. If so, as someone else has also asked, why is the old version still working?
