I think it would be very useful to have a KNOWLEDGE BASE rather than have Scrabblers scrabbling through the forums to see if, by chance, anyone happens to have posted something about how to do this that and the other.
I'm quite happy to assemble (also format and organise) the necessary information myself.

I think you missed the gist of @Mistertoad's post. He said he was "quite happy to assemble (also format and organise) the necessary information [him]self". I think this rates more than a standard boilerplate reply.

I don't know what you're talking about with this names business, and I'm generally not going to worry about anyone with a -308 reputation rating and a mass of deleted posts. Nobody asked you about the proposed knowledge base or appointed you moderator here, and you don't know what Mistertoad does and doesn't know. He was clearly going to draw on his own experience and probably comb the forums, sparing others the trouble of doing so as he said. I won't have anything else to say to you on this, so you can spout whatever you want if you still feel like it.
