    @tessiemcm It's not a pro feature. It should work for everyone on the regular website. I'm not sure about the app or facebook though. How do you access the game?

    Sorry, I thought I'd replied to this already. I am using a Dell desktop computer. I have Pro, and I have the feature. However, I need to know whether everyone has this same feature. I don't want to "cheat" by having a boost that other players don't have.
    Will someone who's using "regular" (not Pro) version please respond, so I can ease my conscience?

      I just now downloaded and opened Lexulous Lite on my iPhone, and I don't see any sign of the thermometer. I tend to doubt that it's in the paid iOS version either, but I'm not familiar with the differences between the lite and the paid versions and so I don't know, and I'm too cheap to pay two bucks to find out (though I do pay for a Pro account).

      I think it's pretty clear that if you don't want to cheat or have a dirty conscience, you can simply ask your opponents if they have the thermometer and inform them if they don't and are unaware of it. If you don't want to cheat by having a boost that other players don't have, then don't play with people who don't have the thermometer. I don't think you can avoid having an unfair advantage even if you tell them about it, because they still may not realize how relatively lost they are without it and just how much of an advantage it renders to you the thermometer user.

      I'm going to tell my opponent about it just as soon as I get back up to 69% games won, which should be at the end of this game or the one after that. I know this is essentially cheating, though our rule is that we don't use anything outside of the game itself and the thermometer is inside the game, heh heh.

          @tessiemcm Ah, I see why you were asking now. You and Roy make good points about playing against people who might not have access to the feature. I think it's cool but generally don't use it apart from towards the end of a very tight game.

            @itaintsam It's the misleadingly named 'Move Strength' feature. It's a little bar that appears on the right of the green play button and gives more info when you hover over it. It gives you the percentage of the highest scoring move available in relation to the word you've placed down. It's active before submitting your word. Possibly only available on the website version.

              @prig-twitchell Thank you for the answer! Since a thermometer measures heat I couldn't think why one would be used in a word game.

                      Can anyone confirm that the $1.99 version of the app doesn't (or perhaps does) have the thermometer? Putting it in the website version without putting it in the app was a dubious move, especially if it was anticipated that the thermometer would never be in the app. I can rightfully knock myself for not telling my app-playing opponent about it, but on the other hand our longstanding game of I don't know how many years may be over when I do – unless she wants to continue playing at a gross disadvantage and regularly losing. I won't be switching to a phone, and I doubt she'll want to switch to a laptop.

                        @roymccoy No idea. Cell phones don't work here in the "holler". (I wouldn't want to play on a phone anyway, personally.)

                          Roy, you might want to specify IOS or Android. It would not surprise me if the two apps are very different.

                            @zaph

                            iPhone/iOS. That would be one of four Lexulous apps, the other three being iPhone paid and Android lite and paid (assuming there's also a lite and paid version for Android). @lexulous or @sakamvari could presumably answer this.

                              @itaintsam Yes, the colored bits of the little bar rise towards the top kinda like a thermometer. Roy coined that term so credit to him. I just call it score strength.
