Does the "Connection lost, Reconnecting ..." message really mean the server is down?

When attempting to log on with the non-flash version, my existing user name and password are automatically entered but are said to be invalid, even though they work in the flash version. The only way I can log on is by using Facebook, but now all I get , is "Connection lost.Reconnecting."

@algor has been down for awhile so think it means it is down and they are working on it..but that is just a guess. Just know cant use it right now lol

@allan-watson think the site is down but if you changed your name you might have to verify email by sending it back

I've been seeing this message off & on for about two weeks. It's often HOURS before it reconnects. Help!

@lexulous used to mean site was down, now it can mean VPNs are in use and have to turn it off to get in
