Have not heard of anyone at this site or the reg site that does it..you must be board scrabble player..Hope you do not stop..tho not shocked they would do that, I think there should be penalty to those that trash the game to start another for letters more to their liking..but that is me I would not do it either..real scrabble players just dont...just have fun and hope you do not change your ways and a penalty is added

As a courtesy to the loser of the game, the way I play the loser goes first in the new game. If the loser makes the last move to close out the game, they start the new game and make the first move. Is it legit for them to delete a game and start another if they don't like their draw? I would never do that.

@sandy-gifford You sound like someone we would like to face in a fair game. The person that dumps the game scores a loss, don't they? They are lowering their win/loss score, as it should be.

@annyoakly I think the situation folks have in mind is a game where one player is so disgusted that they dump the game before it starts... if they do it before anybody makes a move, no one gets a loss.

@annyoakly Thank you! They are playing that way to avoid another loss. It was my sister lol We quit playing and she is the only one I played because I knew she agreed not to use word generators. I like a fair game with no cheats.

              Unfortunately this does not happen!

@annyoakly if you delete the game before the opponent moves, it does not affect scoring. Same way if I start a game with you and you never move it automatically drops off and doesn't change either of our scores.

@pangloss I just deleted a game before either of us played. My score dropped.

Don't understand why some games your only choice is DELETE and other games the choice is RESIGN.

@lolamoth Deleting is one thing - shouldn't change your score and as far as I can tell, it's only available before a player plays (or before the second move). After that, one can only resign, which does affect rating.
Also, I seem to recall that the rating change isn't instantaneous. So perhaps that could explain why there was a change?
