    I hate the letter i—especially when there are 4 or 5 in my first rack. This got me thinking.

    Did you know that the frequency of the letter i in the English language (Oxford Concise Dictionary, 1995) is just 7.5%?

    I propose that Lexulous has too many i's (as a percentage of the total), and 2 of them should be removed.

    Who's with me? 🙂

    Lexulous already has 1 less of each vowel compared to Scrabble. I don't think it would be too smart to deviate even further from Alfred Butts' original idea. I think the problem is the randomizer algorithm on this newer version. It does like to dump a bunch of the same vowels in your rack in a way that rarely happens in face to face games. The algorithm on the old version didn't seem to have these issues. Perhaps the devs could look into improving it.

    Scrabble:
    E ×12, A ×9, I ×9, O ×8, U ×4

    Lexulous:
    E ×11, A ×8, I ×8, O ×7, U ×3

    Interesting. I wouldn't have guessed the difference from Scrabble! However, Mr. Butts created his tile pool so long ago, I wonder if the letter frequency of normal English has changed since then?

    I agree that the game seems to have too many I's and U's!

    @anexparrot Such an interesting question! From wiki: "over a small sample of Biblical passages, from most frequent to least frequent, enaid sorhm tgþlwu æcfy ðbpxz of Old English compares to eotha sinrd luymw fgcbp kvjqxz of modern English" and now I'm going down the rabbit hole.

    @lolamoth Scrabble has been scrabble forever. Alfred knew what he was doing. making this game easier does not make it fun

    @anexparrot why does everything these days have to be made easier? not in any rush to dumb things down.

    @betterlate1-0 yay, free advice!

    Upon reflection, I realize it's not too many i's, it's that they come in clumps.
