Timer warning for both players
-
@mapmakere if you're saying you like the noise of the timer, God bless you. On occasion it might be okay but when it winds down to the last critical I guess 30 seconds or less it's really, really annoying at the worst time. It's just bad programming.

@mapmakere I play on my Android and that annoying timer sound cannot be turned off, unless I am mute the entire phone and I don't want to do that because I want to hear the ding when it's my turn.
I figured out what it does, which helps a little. When there's 15 seconds left left to go it ticks for 4 seconds then it pauses for one pointless second, now we're at 10 seconds, then it ticks for another 4 seconds then it pauses another second and then it ticks for the remaining 4 seconds. It's the most annoying, pointless thing & it sounds ugly. The developers failed on this one.
Thanks for listening -
@pangloss Actually I do like to get the clicker when I am within a few seconds of running out of time. I play on my desktop usually, and am not sure whether my experience replicates what you hear in Android. And I haven't paid a huge amount of attention to exactly when the timer-warning sounds, how many times it clicks, etc. But I do keep the sound high enough that I can hear it (and of course my move notifications). The clicker towards the end sometimes helps!

@thatguythere202 Desktop is different. I am talking about the Android app. It does not ding once ever, and certainly not with one minute to go. That sounds tolerable - but I just played on the computer. It made a weird chirp at 0:48 seconds and then another I think at 0:38. Not horrible (but not great). The annoying tickticktick on the app at 15, then 10 then 5 is bad. An example of programmers not really experiencing the game from the user's POV

@mapmakere I think a plink at about 15 sec is plenty

@betterlate1-0 Or even one plink every 5 seconds. But the way they have it now is just horrible not just the way it works but the way it sounds.
