I agree that this is a quirk. It works in reverse as well where someone doesn't join your game but it locks me up and I have to reboot. What do you mean by you are charged a game credit if you wait it out?

When I play a live game on the app I start a game, someone joins and then you have to wait for the opponent to play. Sometimes the game will start but the opponent won't move. Either they forgot or walked away from their phone or computer or whatever. After 3 minutes the game will end (and of course we're still charged a game credit). So rather than wait the full minutes, if it goes about 2 minutes without my opponent playing I just delete the game assuming the other person isn't going to play - 3 minutes is just too long.
So now that I've done that a few times this this game or the developers have actually flagged my account and I can't start a game and I received the message that says that I can't play for a while.
It's so stupid - of course I emailed the moderators the developers no response. Thanks guys!

I've played this game for so long I used to be in touch with the developers and I've been a paying member forever but I'm going to cancel my subscription. Just too annoying.

@pangloss Ive had that happen too (using a laptop for live games). I emailed Admin and got this back:
      "We totally understand your concern,
Yes this issue occurs when you delete too many games.
We request you to please wait for few hours, it will be automatically removed, we are sorry to inform that no changes can be done from our end."

Not helpful other than to know it can happen to anyone. No one seems to know what 'too many' games means.

@pangloss Truly irritating, yes. From the perspective of a desktop player, this is something that often happens: I set up a table with my preferred timing and settings, and wait for opponents to join me. Often I will be doing some editing or something else in a different window, while waiting for the "ding" that tells me I have a game request. However, at times a game will start on its own with no such audible notice; I won't know there is someone there until I hear a move tone (Your Turn) or that irritating "applause" sound indicating their first move was a bingo. From earlier discussions it has become apparent that these opponents, who get placed at my table with no notice or request, are people who play in the app and are allotted to games by some mysterious Sorting Hat or something. This is rather irksome; for one thing it means my opponent may have been looking at their letters for up to a minute before I even knew they were there--which, in a two-minute game, can be significant. So I usually elect not to play those games; either I will delete the table right off, or I will just wait out the timer. But the game usually self-deletes after one moveless minute; three minutes seems excessive!

@retired2017 in order to play on the app you have to watch a certain amount of ads, you sit through one unsufferable ad for a few moments and you get five game credits. Then you play and you run out of them and then you have to charge up again. So if you join a game with somebody and they never play and you delete the game early you lose a credit. You may not lose a credit if the person just times out. But that 3 minute is too long and I should mention that I play 5 minute games so 3 minutes is pretty much impossible to recover.

@mapmakere yeah the good news is that it didn't last long but I was pretty darn annoyed when I posted this because I've literally been a pair paying player forever. Something thing that bothers me about the internet is that when it puts you in a broad category with other people and same penalty without any intelligent thoughts or decision making behind it.

@pangloss I stopped playing live games because of the annoying stuff, I use the website, not the app but can still play almost immediately with an opponent if they’re available to play or we just come back to the game when we can. More relaxing.I do find it hard to find new opponents -my rating is reasonably high so don’t know if that puts people off when I challenge them but I am happy to play anyone.

@pangloss wow! On a pc you have to suffer through ads as well but generally as long as you don't log out of a game you don't have to have this type of setup. A few months ago their ads were so bad that I ended up buying a subscription for a year. It is really worth it not to put up with the ads.

@retired2017 Yes, I've been a paying member for years. I like the game so much it's worth it to me to support the guys. But for some reason on the app you still have to earn game points. At least there are no reoccurring ads once you have the game credits

Since I posted this message I haven't deleted one game people have started with me and deleted the game and now I'm getting the message as if I'm the person deleting them. Since the developers are completely unresponsive I guess I'm just ranting here for no better reason other than to rant.
I've I canceled my subscription for this reason. I'm sure my $4 or whatever it is per year will make no difference to them, but got to vote with my feet right?
                    Thanks everyone for listening

                      Heyy,
In my view, all of this makes perfect sense and it’s quite clear why things are as they are. It is very frustrating to say the least when you have started a game and the other player does not move, so you end up spinning the slot machine to lose the game credits. The 3 minutes that people may spend waiting their turn would be very long, particularly if the other person opposite them does not intend to play.

It is so sad to receive such status of being flagged even after uninstalling those games. There appears to be no efficient protocol for such moves, that is, although the opponent fails to perform a move within a particular period, they allow the owner to continue with the game even if he or she is in a losing position. This is further compounded by the lack of response from the moderators and the developers while doing so taking the punitive action against you when you are a long-term contributing subscriber and paying member.

I had a similar experience with another app, and it's definitely disheartening when you feel like your concerns are falling on deaf ears. Hopefully, the developers will address this issue soon and improve the system to prevent dedicated players like yourself from having these negative experiences.
