@betterlate1-0 May I 'chime' in with a related issue? I've noticed that the sound (if there is one) when my opponent swaps or passes is very faint. I often don't notice at first and assume it's still their turn. Hopefully admins can make it louder or more distinctive.

Yes Dan!!! omg, yes. I only hear a ding when it's my turn about 50% of the time.... regardless if my opponent plays a word, swaps, or passes. I like to play fast games - like 1 or 2 minutes - so not knowing its your turn can make a player lose valuable seconds. For me, when the noise is missing alerting me it my turn doesn't make a sound - it seems to happen most frequently towards the end of the game.

@scantron Same happens to me. But I've been figuring that it happens a lot towards the end because that is when people are trying to play lickety-split and the faint tone goes unnoticed. I have lost numerous games that way (but I've won a few too...)

@betterlate1-0 True. The classic ticking countdown sound from flash version was less harsh and annoying. This new one seems to kick in at odd times and doesn't even do a proper countdown that's in sync with the seconds remaining. They need to balance all this stuff.
