@jon-steiner It should now be saying 'the game is drawn' or something similar. There can still be a significant rating change though. On the previous version, I believe ratings were unaffected after a drawn game. Not sure what the official tournament rules are following a tie.

@dan-mitchell I do think it could be handled better. To the best of my recollection they did have a ratings change after a tie, depending on the players' respective ratings ... but IMHO ratings should not be affected after a drawn game.

@dan-mitchell to clarify: when I said "they did have a ratings change" I was doing my best to recall how the old Flash game worked.

@thatguythere202 My personal view is that there was no change. Remember how you could bring up the list of your 10 previous games on the old version? I'd do that after a tie, and that game stood out because it was a different color (think it was black) and I'm pretty sure it was simply no points gained, no points lost for each player. Obviously, ties aren't super common so I might be wrong lol, but that's my feeling.

I certainly agree with you on that.

@dan-mitchell Personally I don't really care that much, but I think that the people in the serious end of the chess and scrabble worlds look at it this way: a stronger player is expected to win, so if there is a tie game between widely different rated people, the lower rater gets points, etc.

@zaph You're right. I guess it's fair enough how it works now. And it actually tells you prior to playing what the rating change will be in the event of a tie. You can't say you weren't warned if you draw the game and lose points.
