If the opponent is not there and will never play that means I literally have to stare at my phone for 3 minutes hoping that he's going to play. I think this should be paired down to about 2 minutes, at least that will be a little less wasted time A better idea would be to have the initial play timeout be a ratio of the total game length. Even a 2 minute timeout will annoy some players I bet. This might be less necessary if they fixed the bug where app players can join any game without the host accepting them.

@dan that happens to me a lot - usually a player with a super low rating so I delete the game. Little did I know deleting games is a big no-no (whether you have a good reason or not). Now I'm penalized and cannot host games.

If they're not going to add a basic option to disable it (such as they did for sounds, numbered board etc), then they should save the confetti graphics for when you, and you alone, have actually won the game. Bingos aren't uncommon or particularly special, so I'd rather not have a party in my face every time I get one. And why should it also appear when our opponent gets one? It's their bingo, so let them experience the confetti if they want, but not the person who's just conceded one. Perhaps this is why my account was suddenly disabled. The developer who added it was like 'You don't like my new confetti animation? You have the audacity to complain about it in the forum? Well, now you no longer have to experience it; bye-bye!'.

@dan if you actually read posts by her that she mostly has deleted you would see why the vitriol is happening!
