Sitters

@dan Lot of childish players here. Did not just start. Looks like they do not stand a chance and poof they are gone.

@betterlate1-0
"not chess Toady" - I prefaced my post with the words "For reference".
"Also not our site, would be up to owners." - Yes, of course. -
@mistertoad It is a good idea. Why not ask them?

I didn't think there was much need to embroider the original 'Feature Request' post from 'anexparrot'.
-
@mistertoad your choice but maybe if sitters faced penalties they would stop

Exactly what I was saying!

@mistertoad exactly what you said but you did not ask if it can be done. Suggestion is ask if they can do it?

Well, it seems that the original 'Feature Request' post from 'anexparrot' apparently didn't merit a reply from Lexulous. They appear to have tacitly rejected this "Sitters" thread, yes?
-
@mistertoad Perhaps if you flat out asked, can you assess a penalty they would respond?

If a player doesn't make a move within, say 3 minutes, then they lose the game. This makes it more difficult for cheaters to google stuff or whatever they do. I play Bullet chess where you have to make ALL your moves in under 3 minutes or you lose.
The penalty for exceeding the time limit results in the loss of the game and, consequently, rating points as well.
If it's an email game then the penalty not finishing a game could be a temporary ban (as often happens on chess sites).

@mistertoadI am not here to argue If you want to ask ask, if not don't. Seems anything I say is now getting arguments from everyone here and some on lobby chat. I am not arguing. Have fun

@betterlate1-0
Looking again at all we've been saying, perhaps you are right. I'll ask on a new thread ("Time Limits"). After all, 'anexparrot' didn't get a response here, did he!!Apologies for being a 'stick in the mud' - it's a toad thing. Frogs just jump straight out of any mud. Us toads look down on those muppets!

@global-former_user The previous default for think Literati was that a player would lose if they delayed more than three minutes to make a move.
