@jrp32 I'm totally with you on that. I have some with whom I have played a number of games, and they are decent players, but who have never said a word ("typed" a word, more correctly). Some of these people have landed on my censor list because I prefer not to play with what I call "grumpfaces." (of course I find it even more irritating when the grumpface is out of my league and almost always beats me ... so there are more of that kind of player on my list than the other kind)
Bottom line, the game should have some social component; otherwise you might as well be playing a robot.

@jrp32 I prefer to play real people who chat the most, but second to them I like to play real, silent people because the robots on lex are either too hard or too easy and at least in the past were almost non-strategic.

It surprises me how few people on here are interested in words.

I almost can't believe that you said that! 😊 I am a logophile and have been since grammar school. I made the mistake of thinking that people who would play a serious word game like Lex were too. I found out i was badly mistaken. So instead of just letting loose with a dissertation on a word played I do things like ask "are you interested in the etymology of <word>". Too often, i get replies like "No". Or "not really".
Currently I am only playing 3 people (all women) but I am not saying anything and wondering if they will actually say anything.

@jrp32 I don't think it's better at all to play robots. And I love learning/talking about etymology. We seem to be thin on the ground.

@joyfulhorse Right! Case in point -- the phrase "thin on the ground" -- British origin and (mostly) usage. Means 'scarce' or similar. I love to talk about things like that.

@jrp32 then there's "long in the tooth".

@sparks Um... yeah, sure. I can say I've been told after a game to "Get F****d" ... is that what we are calling the GF experience? No. waitaminute. Girlfriend experience? "Gee, Fantastic" experience?
Being a child of the last century, I'm probably not as up-to-date as I ought to be on all the Netspeak.

@jrp32 Hey wasn't it you that complained about the bag to me incessantly in one game, after beating me in the previous 6 games?
I resigned and gave you that win even though I was 200 ahead of you.
Because you talking was soooooo boring

Rule 47: Don't complain about the bag

YOU are better off with robots.

I hope this has answered your question.

@jrp32 Also why is this a women's issue?

If you are feeling rejected disproportionately by women, I guess there might be more to this story and some "looking inside" could be more useful than complaining that chicks aren't digging you.

You might be okay with words, but stringing them together isn't your gift.

PS: You made yourself sound like a perve if I wasn't clear enough.

@joyfulhorse you are making yourself the miniskirt and heels of an eighties court case.

@sparks Nonono, 47 is "Don't complain about anything if you are in the lead." Maybe you meant 44(a).

@jrp32 How can you even tell the gender of your opp? A: you can't. Nor can they tell yours.
