Missing letters

@kathybarathy Apologies for the inconvenience caused to you. Can you share a screenshot with us at admin@lexulous.com?

@sakamvari
Apparently not, or she already would have done so. It's interesting that you seem to have a problem imagining a rack with fewer than eight tiles. If you weren't simply pumping out another of your standard do-nothing boilerplate replies, you might have written something more like, "Could you please take a screenshot if this happens again and send it to us?" -
@sakamvari Yes, I will do that next time it happens.

@kathybarathy That glitch has never happened to me Kathy (unless through my own error). I always get a full rack after playing a move. Do you use the website or the app? Do you use a computer, phone or tablet? Live or email games?
Make sure you press 'recall' (or escape) when it's your turn, just in case any of your letters are hiding on the board from fiddling around during your opponent's turn. I've mislaid tiles that way on occasion. Apologies if I'm stating the obvious there. I thought it was worth mentioning because it's always good to eliminate human error first.

@kathybarathy Has this been fixed?

@kathybarathy There is an option of Blank tiles, where you will receive 8 tiles as usual with one or two tiles without any letters. On clicking these empty tiles, you can see all the left playable letters for options, you can those letters according to your preference to make a word.

HUH???
Since when is this? The option is in Settings, I suppose? ... No it, isn't. ???

Has anyone else ever heard of this "Blank tiles" option? Since it's probably getting towards sakamvari's bedtime, I can't count on an explanation from him this morning / tonight. This mind-blowing option should of course be two-sided only, but then so should the score thermometer and it isn't. Thanks.

@roymccoy Blank tile automatically appears on the screen while playing, with 8 tiles as usual in the rack and one or two tiles with missing letters. Not all games will have blank tiles. you might receive them randomly. You might have not got it yet. Why don't you try it yourself out first the next time you get a chance to get it?
-
Thanks for your reply. You appear to have edited it after the first version I read, but I still don't understand it. You seemed to indicate that that the player would always have one or two blanks, but now you say "Not all games will have blank tiles. you might receive them randomly." ?????
You might have not got it yet.
What's "it"? A new version of the game? Why wouldn't I have gotten this new version, or whatever it is, if others have? Nobody else has mentioned it, which would be surprising to me if they have got it.
Why don't you try it yourself out first the next time you get a chance to get it?
I'm sure I will, assuming this chance presents itself. You didn't say whether it was (or will be) two-sided or not. Again, I would assume it would be impossible for one player to play with it, having gotten it, while the other didn't.

@roymccoy et al. Isn't another way to say this is that the pool of letters includes two blank (or really what are "wild card") tiles that you can choose to make any A-Z letter? (I think sakamvari was unclear a couple of messages ago; the choices for the blank tile include any A-Z letter, not just those remaining in the pool at the time.)
In any complete game, I am quite sure, the two blank tiles will have been taken from the pool. If one is not played on the board (note the color change of the letter), then it is going to be in the letters left on the rack of your opponent. (The latter rarely happens, I believe, because those wild card tiles are very valuable in game play.)
My caveat is that I play the email game, so it may possibly be different in other game contexts.
I don't believe there is a settable option to have or not to have the blanks. If there is, please educate me.
Sorry this is not a cranky reply. I'll try to be better next time. -
Oh no, this is fine, thanks. I've only been playing this game for a little over ten years, so one might well suppose that I don't know what a blank tile is and how to use it. sakamvari's comment was:
There is an option of Blank tiles, where you will receive 8 tiles as usual with one or two tiles without any letters. On clicking these empty tiles, you can see all the left playable letters for options, you can those letters according to your preference to make a word.
I don't know what this had to do with @kathybarathy's problem in any event, but I thought sakamvari was talking about an option because that's the word he used. With this option activated, one would receive one or two blanks every move ("you will receive 8 tiles as usual with one or two tiles without any letters"). The letters displayed would be those that were "playable", i.e. could be used to make possible words with the other letters. But now, with your help, I have realized that sakamvari was in fact simply talking about blanks. Thank you again – or, as they say in Uzbek, yana bir bor rahmat!

@roymccoy 1) Please note that my response above included "et al.," meaning it was directed to the other people with comments as well; probably that wasn't clear. 2) Like you, I found @sakamvari's wording in his reply to @kathybarathy confusing in the sentences you quoted above, and I tried to clarify it. 3) Yes, the posts have diverted from her original post asking about not getting eight letters on a draw (when there are eight or more in the pool).
4) I apologize for underestimating your expertise and experience, to which I defer. I haven't been playing the game as long as you have (only about eight years under this username), so I surely don't qualify as an expert or perhaps even knowledgeable. -
