I’m unable to access my games and players. I rebooted my I paid and changed my password to no avail. When Lexulous loads it just sit with a blank page. HELP!

You play more than 5 games simultaneously. Some will be fast, some slow, so it balances to medium speed

I’m being blocked by the mods, and I’m unsure why. I’m simply trying to participate respectfully.

Why won't my games load?

@jrp32 yeah I think that's a hardware issue not anything to do with Lexulous. Your processor is probably old and quite slow and it takes time for everything to load up unfortunately. I used to teach computer classes and I would describe the tension between software engineers and the hardware engineers as the Imelda Marcos syndrome: Mrs. Marcos would come home with new shoes but her closet was full and wouldn't have any place to put them so her husband, being rich and powerful, would build her a bigger closet. Now with extra space she could buy more shoes and fill it up again and he'd build her a bigger closet, etc. I see computer designers make faster processors with more RAM and the software engineers see that they have more ability to make bigger programs so they write more complicated programs. Your situation sounds similar, you have a bloated website loading up on your fire-stoked system. Maybe you can convert to a steam engine. :)

I’ve played 1000-some games with two friends by email the past few years. I don’t bother much with rankings/leaderboardsand so on, but I understand the concerns of those who DO. If the competition becomes “My AI is better than YOUR AI.” there’s no point (and no fun) playing. ARE there guidelines/rules as to what search tools (if any) are legit? If so, where do we find them? LEXULOUS is obviously DESIGNED to enable word-searching AS you play (eliminating the risk and fun of CHALLENGING words as one can in F2F Scrabble), so is anything offsite of Lex dodgy? Illegal?

I'm late in replying. For me, "focus" is only an issue in the moment of actually having to find a move. I only play slow-place games (though when playing chess I enjoy both blitz and correspondence). My tips for you are to concentrate on the following: -do you have letters to make common letter combinations such as 'ing', 'ion', 'er'? -which "hooks" has your opponent left you on which you can make words? -check that you haven't left possibilities for your opponent to get triples etc. -go for a lower score if the choice of other words allows your opponent too many opportunities. enjoy all of your games even when you lose (as we all do at some point)!
