@elaine-solomon Switching off the chat toggle under settings seems to disable the in-game chat entirely. I leave it enabled so I can say "hi", "gg" etc, and the occasional bit of friendly chat (if my opponent isn't a psycho). I generally switch to the dictionary or tools tab for most of the game so the chat isn't in my eyeline at all times. The chat tab will light up blue if there's a message (and you're on a different tab) which is a nice touch.

Please have him fix the score thermometer while he's at it, thanks – it's down again. This is what is known as a "bug", and generally attempts are made to "debug" such problems.

I lost a game once and got a reply: they said the game was lost. I suspect they would say the same to you if they replied, except this time it would be several games rather than just one. Sorry.

Right. That's why I haven't run into it. It would sorely tick me off. I'm slightly ticked off, even not having run into it personally. Not only does it suggest a waste of time that could be put to better use, but... oops, I forget the other thing, lol.

In the meantime, however, you might simply accept that this happens and know that it's not just you. The meter is useful and shouldn't be removed simply because it isn't perfectly accurate. Post-game analysis is inaccurate in the same way (presumably using the same best words), but I don't think anyone would want to get rid of that for this reason.
